2023 European Show Contest – Announcement

We are excited to announce the 5th edition of the European Show Contest in The Netherlands.

The European Show Contest will be organized from November 24th to 26th 2023 by the Nederlands Rope Skipping Organisatie in Zeist, the Netherlands. The Hotel Theater FIGI will provide an atmospheric ambient for this event.

2021 European Show and Wheel Contest in Mechelen, Belgium

The 4th ERSO Show Contest for show-style routines. A total of 17 shows were performed by participants from 6 European countries and judged by two juries, one according to “technical rules” and the other purely on show performance. 

For the second time, the European Wheel Contest was hosted in addition to the Show Contest to give Chinese wheel teams of two a competition format.

Even though the situation is improving in some European countries, we do not want to put you – the coaches, and the athletes – in risk of a COVID-19 infection. Therefore, we decided to cancel this year’s EUROPE Holidays.

We are glad to inform you that as of now, the European Rope Skipping Organisation is the official European representation of IJRU. ERSO and IJRU have signed a Memorandum of Understanding as a summary of our collaboration. We are looking forward to a great partnership with IJRU, filling all the white spots on the European map and bringing our sport to the next level.

1998 European Masters Championships in Rockenhausen, Germany

2nd European Masters – 30 participants from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Sweden, The Netherlands. For the first time Hungary participated in the European Championships and won. The rest of Europe had to go home and practice Speed. Also a small camp for the skippers and a Judges Course was arranged.

8th European Team Championships – 34 teams from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Sweden and The Netherlands. Results
Dutch Open Tournament – First time that there was an open tournament after the championships. The Open Tournament was open for all teams that didn’t qualify for the real EC or didn’t live up to the rules of being a real mixed team or a European team. The tournament had competitors from Europe, Canada and USA.

7th European Team Championships – 32 teams from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands and UK.

1995 European Masters Championships in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands

First European Masters – 45 participants from Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands and UK.
French skippers visited the event and showed their way to jump Double Dutch. The other skippers were amazed but the French skippers had never jumped Single Rope so they were also impressed. After the Championships an Elite workshop took place for three days to educate the best skippers in Europe to be on Junior Staff. Skippers were evaluated and some were picked to be on Staff for Eu-Rope-Skip 1996.

This was the first year without Compulsory routines in Single Rope and Double Dutch.

1993 Eu-Rope-Skip Camp in Leuven, Belgium

For the first time the Camp was after the Championships so that teams couldn’t steal routines and tricks from each other. The Camp was run by Richard Cendali and his team but for the first time some European skippers were also used as Junior Staff. ERSO had been founded in the spring of 1993 and a lot of activities were initiated. From this time the term Eu-Rope-Skip Camp was used.
